MAREAS DE SENRA MILL (ORTIGUEIRA) | |
| Description/history | This water mill dates from 1910 and is located at the mouth of the river Maior in the bay of Ortigueira. Beside the mill there is a pool to collect high tide waters that were later released to drive the mill workings. This is a small scale construction, with stone walls and a roof system using a wooden structure that held up the slab covering. It is an example of traditional architecture and technical ingenuity that are now not in use. |
