CAPELA DO PORTO - CHAPEL (VALDOVIÑO)

Description/historyThe chapel to Our Lady of the Port is of special interest on the Valdoviño coast, lashed by the harsh meterological conditions, as this small shrine crowns Porto’s beach. Legend tells of the fisherfolk who found an image in the sea here, which they took back to land. The very next day the image was discovered once again in the sea and so it was decided to build a chapel, named after the image: The Virgen of the Port.
