PORT OF BURELA | |
Description | Burela’s fishing port is one of the most important on the Galician coast and dominates the whole seafront to meet Portelo beach in the most modern part of the town. Burela’s history dates back to pre-Roman times. The oldest remains of settlements in the area correspond to a hill-fort located at the end of the cape. The inhabitants of these castros or hill-forts gave the town one of its emblems, a torque, which forms part of the Burela coat of arms. |
